Village
 
  The urban area of the Municipality is formed by the Municipal Head that has the category of town, subdivided into six zones, eight neighborhoods, a colony.

Colonies and neighborhoods:
 
Military. Neighborhoods: El Porvenir, Santa Fe, Santa Maria, Morazán, Las Delicias, El Rastro, El Bosque, Las Tres Cruces.

Weather

The hottest months are March, April, May and June.

The rainiest months are July, August, September and October.
 Fauna and Flora
Among the fauna there are cattle, pigs, equines, poultry; as well as wild animals such as deer, tepezcuintles, mountain car, wild boar, tigrillo, jaguars, petén tapir, lizards, mazacuatas, iguanas, turtles, cojolitos, goats, mountain cat, yellow beard, monkey saraguate, royal parrots, among others .
Some of these species are in danger of extinction due to deforestation and irrational hunting.
In the flora of the municipality stand out the timber trees such as mahogany, pine, maria cedar, ramón, palo blanco, rosul, barium, palo de sangre, among others.

Tourism
The spa Las Pozas, is located on the shore of the Machaquilá River

Located in the Ixobel Farm, three kilometers from the Municipal Headquarters on paved road and one kilometer on foot, it has an ecological hotel, diversity of entertainment, among them hiking trails, horseback riding for several days with a guide, a lagoon and some caves with water to explore.
